There’s no miracle pill that’s going to magically help you lose weight, no matter what the internet says. However, there are ingredients when supplemented into your daily routine that can assist in fat-burning. You just have to put in the hard work on your end to see weight loss results. One such substance is 6-paradol.
What is 6-Paradol?
Ginger is a popular spice to add some flavor to culinary dishes. But it’s also an extremely common ingredient in traditional medicine for a range of ailments. Due to its numerous active components, depending on the specific type of ginger plant, ginger offers so many health benefits. 6-paradol is one of those substances which is specifically derived from seeds of the Aframomum melegueta plant, also known as Grains of Paradise [1].
6-paradol is a phenolic ketone usually found in smaller amounts along with 6-gingerol and 6-shogaol. It’s earned quite the reputation for its multitude of benefits ranging from increased energy expenditure to fat-burning.
Benefits of 6-Paradol
6-paradol is a great supplement for so many reasons that everyone can gain from it. For one, it has antioxidative properties [2]. This occurs through lipid and carbohydrate oxidation reduction resulting in a decrease in free radicals. And the absence of free radicals can promote better brain health and lower the chances of cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases while also working as a treatment for symptoms of these diseases. Similarly, its antioxidative properties have an anti-tumor, capable of preventing and treating cancer.
The most fascinating and desirable benefit of taking 6-paradol is its weight loss promotion. 6-paradol is a popular ingredient in products like pre-workout because studies show it targets fat in two different ways. Firstly, it increases energy usage through the activation of brown adipose tissue, turning white adipose into brown. A side effect of this process is a generation of heat production known as thermogenesis which is extremely effective in fat-burning [3,4}. The second way 6-paradol encourages weight loss is by burning calories through the activity of brown adipose tissue.
Another great thing about 6-paradol is that it’s a non-stimulant. It won’t increase your heart rate or cause jitters like caffeine tends to do. In fact, 6-paradol can actually work to control blood pressure, making it an excellent option for treating hypertension. However, be sure to check that caffeine isn’t an additional ingredient in any product you buy.
Lastly, 6-paradol works to balance hormones in the body. Having too much or too little of certain kinds of hormones can seriously impact your health, so it’s important to have the right amount.
